The students at IIM Bangalore are trained with a combination of academic rigour and experiential learning experiences outside of a classroom setting. Through the case method of teaching at IIMB, students have the opportunity to solve complex business situations that require them to critically evaluate information about their business environment and develop strategies for addressing those challenges. The development of leadership skills is also a fundamental aspect of IIMB's education and includes the use of workshops, simulations, and opportunities to engage with successful business leaders.

Admission Process

IIM Bangalore employs an extensive and very competitive admission system. For the flagship MBA (PGP), admissions are based on CAT results initially, then assessed via academic results, work history, and diversity factors so as to drop the less desirable applicants from further consideration. Those chosen afterward are invited to a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), where the various abilities of analytical thought, communicative skills, clearly set goals, and personality characteristics are evaluated.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective students must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50% or the equivalent CGPA from an accredited institution to apply for the management programs at IIM Bangalore. All students can apply if they will meet their graduation timeline, even those who are currently enrolled in their final year of study. A minimum of three to seven years of professional experience is required for executive education/specialised programmes and must be relevant to the programme being applied for; some programmes also accept GMAT/GRE in addition to CAT scores.

Placements

IIM Bangalore regularly produces great placement results because of its strong relationship with the industry, rigorous student training, and the skill level of its student body. Summer and final placement opportunities are filled with leading businesses in the consulting, finance, technology, FMCG and e-commerce sectors, as well as in general management. Additionally, many students receive pre-placement offers (PPOs) after completing their internships. Furthermore, due to IIM Bangalore's successful curriculum, hands-on experience, and large alumni network, many graduates are placed in influential, high-paying management positions.
