Admission Process

The admission process at XLRI is competitive and merit-based. Applicants submit their admissions based on their XAT score. A selected number of applicants are then invited to participate in a series of group discussions, written ability test(s), and personal interviews. The multi-stage evaluation process produces candidates who possess excellent analytical abilities, leadership potential, and are compatible with the values of XLRI. The diversity of the student body is enhanced through this process.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for any of the XLRI programs, the applicant must have completed his/her Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university with an excellent academic track record. For some of the XLRI programs work experience will be an advantage; however, all applicants must have consistently achieved good grades in their undergraduate studies and have done well on the appropriate type of entrance examination. If you meet these three basic requirements, you will be well-prepared for the demanding nature of most of the management educational programs offered at XLRI.

Infrastructure

1. Campus & Accommodation

The XLRI Jamshedpur campus, which is made up of more than 50 acres, features a wide variety of modern academic buildings and residential facilities. There are four hostel blocks available for students who are enrolled in a residential programme; these blocks have single and double rooms, high-speed internet and LAN connections, dining areas, laundry services, and security staff. Additionally, there are messes to eat at, sufficient resting areas, and 24-hour protection available for students living on the XLRI campus.

2. Academic Facilities

you will find a well-equipped academic block with air‑conditioned, multi-purpose amphitheatre-style rooms equipped with multi-media and high-speed internet access At the institute. The research area includes not only computer labs but also behaviour labs, small group rooms, many large conference rooms, and three large auditoriums, one of which is the 1500 seat Tata auditorium. The centrally air‑conditioned Sir Jehangir Ghandy Library has a large collection of books, e‑resources, and both national and international journals to help support the students' and faculty members' academic studies as well as their research.

3. Sports & Recreation

XLRI offers a variety of sports and recreation opportunities for all levels of fitness and ability as part of its commitment to the development of well-rounded individuals. Students at XLRI have access to numerous types of outdoor sports courts and playing fields for sports such as Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton etc., in addition to a modern, fully-equipped fitness centre (gym). Additionally, through partnerships with community sports clubs, XLRI provides access to swimming facilities, squash courts, and athletic running tracks, helping students develop their overall fitness and encourage team camaraderie and a healthy lifestyle.
