Admission Process

A major influence on admission is the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE). To gain admission to any program, students must register online for an examination and book a time to take it. Examiners will then have an opportunity to take a proctored, computer-based test after they receive their results. Short listed applicants will be called into a common counselling centre to be given an assignment according to merit in the campus or branch selection process.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must also have completed 12 grades of high school, with a strong background in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology) as well as a defined percentage of total aggregate marks (in these subjects). Applicants must also meet any applicable age requirements, and provide documentation supporting their residence, as well as their academic qualifications to support their application.

Infrastructure

1. Campus & Accommodation

The VIT Campus has (372) acres of land and is made up of (24) modern hostel blocks where (22,000) male and female residents can live "away from home." All of the hostel rooms have multi-cuisine canteen facilities and continuous water supply, gym access, and high levels of hygiene due to the use of sterilized kitchens.

2. Academic Facilities

There are (7) specialized academic buildings on the VIT Roof to support the creation and operation of immersive research and learning, including the Silver Jubilee Tower and Technology Tower. The rest of the campus includes Smart Classrooms with digital projectors, a large Central Library with (7) floors of books and materials for research, technologically advanced laboratories for students to conduct experiments and research on, and an (1,800) seat air-conditioned auditorium that can accommodate Global Conferences and provide Advanced Technical Training.

3. Sports & Recreation

The VIT Campus is committed to promoting Wellness Through a combination of (20) acres of physical activity through sports, New Swimming Pools that are World-Class, New Basketball Courts that are Fully Synthetic, and New Tennis Courts that Are Fully illuminated. The Indoor Facilities also include a Fully Air-Conditioned Gymnasium, Snooker Table Facilities, and Badminton Courts with Wooden Floors.
