Overview

The UPES School of Engineering is part of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and offers an extensive engineering programme that meets the current needs of industry and is relevant for future trends. The engineering programme focuses on creating a strong technical foundation through the use of current technology, innovation, and the application of problem-solving skills. The school uses a framework that encourages interdisciplinary learning, project-based education, hands-on laboratory experience, and continuous engagement with the challenges faced by industry. Admission Process

A fair and transparent admission method that helps students by using their academic history and any entrance tests is the overall approach. The process follows a structured application and selection process, with assistance in the form of counselling and academic orientation to assist in guiding all candidates through the admission process. The entire admission process ensures that every student will receive an impartial evaluation, be contacted in a timely manner and be provided with consistent support as they begin their studies in various engineering fields.

Eligibility Criteria

The prerequisites for application include achieving the necessary qualifications in relevant science and mathematics subjects at an appropriate level, along with possessing sufficient basic knowledge and analytical ability. The eligibility framework outlines the criteria that will be used to determine if a student has the appropriate foundational knowledge and analytical ability to apply to an engineering programme. Candidates must demonstrate that they have met both institutional criteria as well as the applicable regulatory requirements related to the type of engineering programme they wish to pursue.

Infrastructure

1. Campus & Accommodation

The university campus is located in a quiet, friendly natural setting in which to study as well as enjoy many of the conveniences of modern society. The accommodation for male and female students consists of separate, fully equipped buildings with their own common areas, dining rooms, 24-hour electric backs up and necessary furniture and equipment. In addition, there are off-campus accommodations and more than enough services to support students live on campus.

2. Academic Facilities

Academic facilities include modern lecture theatres; smart classrooms and specialized laboratories which are provided for hands on activities/learning and research for engineering disciplines. A central library equipped with a large, well provided selection of print and electronic materials provides an enhanced academic environment for students and faculty by having central IT infrastructure and seminar spaces.

3. Sports & Recreation

With its extensive array of amenities, including a sports complex that can accommodate multiple uses, several outdoor fields for cricket, football and hockey as well as multiple indoor facilities (indoor game areas and a fully-stocked gym), the campus is dedicated to promoting fitness and recreation through regular sporting events and facilities, providing opportunities for students to engage in a holistic way beyond academics.
