Overview

The School of Business provides a thorough schooling in a cutting edge curriculum with an emphasis on analytical thought, creativity, and developing effective managers. With many of the courses offered here, the blend of traditional management concepts with some of the most important contemporary areas such as; technology, data analysis, and research-based education are created. Critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and problem solving will all be developed and enhanced through the use of case studies, projects, and experiential learning which will be a part of each students experiential education (EEO), through a diverse portfolio of academic disciplines, to prepare students for their impact when they return to business as leaders of their organizations or within their communities. In addition, the School of Business will provide an emphasis on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and strategic management to better prepare our students for the quickly changing businesses and societies of today’s economy. The faculty of the School of Business will have many years of relevant experience, and the culture of the School will be positioned to foster collaboration with one another and to collaborate with their fellow students. The School of Business will equip its graduates with the tools and experiences necessary to develop competent managers, who will be able to successfully manage businesses while navigating through the ever changing landscape of today’s global economy.

The School of Business empowers future leaders through a combination of both traditional quantitative research methods along with innovative and human-centred management practices. Leveraging IIT Guwahati’s leading edge research ecosystem, this program develops participants into high-performing decision makers. Graduates will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to integrate their technical abilities with corporate management and foster innovation and sustainable growth in an increasingly global market.

Admission Process

There are two stages in the selection process. First, all eligible candidates will be ranked and those meeting the basic qualifications will be invited for personal interviews based on their CAT 2025 scores, gender diversity, and academic profiles. Candidates selected for a personal interview will be evaluated based on their performance in the personal interview to create a final merit list. The final merit list will be a composite of CAT performance (40%), personal interview performance (40%), and work experience (10%).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have either a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree (minimum of 60% marks in any subject area) or have an overall score of at least 6.0 on the 10-point scale (CPI). In addition, candidates must have a valid CAT score that meets the minimum requirement of 60% for Quantitative Aptitude. If you are currently in your last year of study and you will meet all graduation requirements by the end of July, you may apply.

The School of Business at IIT Guwahati relies on the strong connection between the Institute and industry to provide graduates of the program with opportunities to attain high levels of employability. The placement process is designed to connect students with leading organizations in all areas of industry, including Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Analytics, and IT Consulting. Infrastructure

1. Campus & Accommodation

At the heart of the Institute is its stunning, expansive 700-acre campus on the banks of the Brahmaputra River, where MBA students will receive a fully-residential experience. In total, there are 11 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels spread out across the campus, all with single-occupancy rooms. In addition to having dedicated mess facilities and 24 hour canteen service, all hostels have high-speed LAN connections available in the rooms.  

2. Academic Facilities

The School of Business is located in a modern academic complex that consists of modern technology such as smart classrooms and seminar rooms. Students will have access to the Lakshmi Nath Bezbaroa Central Library (four storeys) which has more than 150,000 volumes and extensive electronic databases for research. The Computer and Communication Centre provides data-intensive research resources and 24 hour technical support for students to support their projects and the programs.

3. Sports & Recreation

The Institute has a variety of sports facilities that meet international standards. For example, in addition to the 8-lane Olympic-sized swimming pool and indoor stadium for badminton and squash, there are also cricket and football fields with lights so they can be used for playing and practice. Recreational activities are supported through student clubs that cover cultural, technological, and hobby-related activities, as well as the annual flagship festivals of Alcheringa and Technique, which are sponsored by the Student Gymkhana.
