Placements

At the Indira Gandhi National Open University in New Delhi, placement assistance for its management students focuses on improving employability and preparing for career opportunities rather than recruiting students from the university. The university continues to provide opportunities for students to interact with industries and participate in career guidance programs, skill development via real-world experiences, and getting exposure to the wider community of business. Much importance is given to developing both leadership skills and business communication skills, along with providing opportunities to solve real-world problems, so that recent graduates as well as those already in employment can improve their career progression, transition into new roles, and achieve long-term success in various areas of management.

1. Campus & Accommodation

The main campus is an extensive, verdant and environmentally-sound campus consisting of beautifully landscaped open space (such as lawns and gardens), as well as functional buildings that are maintained by the university's Construction and Maintenance Division. Although the university does not provide student accommodation in the form of hostels, the IGNOU complex provides residential facilities to faculty and staff, as well as a well-established and well-maintained headquarters.

2. Academic Facilities

IGNOU's academic base includes a vast array of academic resources, including IT/computer labs, WIFI zones, a central library, an auditorium/function room for events, health services, and a wide variety of academic materials in both digital forms and traditional print formats. These will allow for distance education students to have more modernized learning methods, as well as access to many different regional support centres.

3. Sports & Recreation

There are many informal areas on the campus that help students achieve wellness and exercise. The campus does not have as strong of an emphasis on traditional competitive athletic facilities (like other colleges) because of its open learning concept. However, there are ways to recreate and participate in cultural events in addition to the many different health-promoting programs.
