Admission Process

The application period is highly competitive, as well as, being meritocratically based with respect to large; it is governed by national exams. Undergraduates must complete JEE Main and then JEE Advanced, while the majority of students applying to postgraduate programs (GATE) will use their GATE score to enter. Management students will also need to take the CAT exam and complete extensive interviews and group discussions before they can be admitted.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Registrations are restricted to individuals who have a completed 10+2 in an appropriate subject stream (such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and who have achieved an excellent rank (top 20%) on the JEE Advanced examination. A candidate for M.Tech must possess an appropriate bachelor’s degree and have earned a qualifying score on the GATE. Generally, candidates must earn at least 60% (equivalent CGPA) on their academic component to be eligible; however, the percentage requirement will be relaxed for individuals in reserved classifications.

1. Campus & Accommodation

The IIT Delhi Campus is a 320-acre residential community located in Hauz Khas with over thirteen (13) male dorms, and four (4) female dorms, each with their own self-contained residential facilities, including: Internet service; reading rooms; and food facilities. In addition to providing residential dormitory space for students, the Institute also has on-campus faculty accommodation and married student flats, all of which are set in a very green community.

2. Academic Facilities

The academic facilities provide air-conditioning within lecture theatres that are furnished with LCD projectors and connected via fibre-optic cabling. The main library is also very modern, boasting a collection of more than 300,000 items. Research centres are also available at the central research facility, while there are also many departmental laboratories as well as practical work areas for students engaged in new technologies being developed in engineering, science and business fields.

3. Sports & Recreation

The Board for Sports Activities has coordinated facilities on campus such as cricket fields, hockey fields and synthetic tennis courts that are available to all students. There are other venues on campus for sports related activities, such as the swimming pool and a two-story gym, along with halls for badminton and squash. Students can also express their creativity through the Student Activity Centre and the various cultural clubs on campus.
