Set up in 2009, IIT Mandi runs on a 538-acre campus in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, and takes in students through JEE Advanced for undergraduate engineering and GATE for postgraduate programmes. These numbers suggest a clear pattern: the 4-year undergraduate engineering route places roughly seven in ten students at salaries well above the PG programme's median, while PG placement rates have hovered closer to 40-60% across the last three years.
