Admission Process
CAT Scores, Academic Performance, Work Experience, and Personal Interview results are all taken into consideration when evaluating Automatic Admission into the MBA Program. Starting in 2026, IIM Ranchi will be involved in a Joint Admissions Process (JAP) with IIM Raipur and Trichy and Kashipur, allowing students to submit One Application for multiple Institutions. For Executive MBA and Ph.D. programs the Admissions Process has an additional selection process which includes an Interview.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for admission into an MBA program, you must hold a Bachelor's Degree, as well as a valid CAT score that meets the minimum cutoffs; Executive MBA applicants require prior work experience, and PhD students must hold a Master's Degree and must achieve qualifying national level entry; Lastly, acceptance into any of the programs will be based on the applicant's merit through prior academic and/or professional accomplishments.

Infrastructure
The Institute of Hotel Management is well-known for providing serviced accommodation (hostels) with internet access, large lounges and dining areas, and daily cleaning services. Male and female students have separate accommodation so that their living arrangements are safe, comfortable, and private. In addition, the overall living conditions of the Institute of Hotel Management allow students to have a more comfortable living and learning environment
Within the campus are smart classrooms, high-tech computer labs, and a library with a significant digital collection of textbooks. Additionally, numerous research centers exist for the support of Doctoral programs and Executive programs. To provide students greater opportunity for interactive learning and business collaboration, there are also seminar rooms for the introduction of scholar-led instruction, case study rooms for peer-to-peer learning and video conferencing facilities to link students with business leaders.
The institute also has sports facilities designed to foster undergraduate students' overall development (e.g., indoor/outdoor game rooms), boathouse facilities, fitness centres, running/jogging tracks, multi-sport grounds, etc. Students can take part in many cultural activities, such as clubs and special interest groups; they can develop leadership skills through teamwork and cooperate with others while developing their creativity.
